BIO:

Dr. Stewart Behie: Former Interim Director of the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center and Former Professor of Practice, Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University where he taught full semester courses to undergraduates, graduates and distance learning students in Systems Safety Engineering and Industrial Safety Engineering.

Before joining TAMU, Dr. Behie set up and managed the HES/AI Training & Development Program (2012 to 2015) for Occidental Oil and Gas to develop and prepare new technical hires for operations in a yearlong training program. As the manager of Risk and Process Safety for Oxy (2015-2019), Dr. Behie gave training workshops to engineering and operations staff in all Oxy BU’s worldwide.

Dr. Behie spent 10 years in the ME with Dolphin Energy in Qatar and Zadco in the UAE as HES / Risk Manager for Onshore and Offshore operations and has extensive experience managing process safety and safe operations in his 40-year career.  In addition, Dr. Behie is an Executive Coach for C-Suite Executives and is a sought after keynote speaker including keynote talks for the UN Office for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons conference in Bangladesh in 2021 and Leadership 4.0: The Changing Landscape of Industry Management in the Smart Digital Era” presented at Loss Prevention 2022, Prague, CZ, June, 2022.
