Michael Wright

BIO:

Michael is a Chartered Human Factors Specialist (C.ErgHF) and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS) with over 30 years professional experience in high hazard sectors including chemicals, oil and gas, energy, defense, transport and emergency services. Drawing on his diverse consultancy experience, he now focuses on building sustainable Human Factors capability within organizations by the provision of training, guidance and advice. He is a mentor on the Energy Institute's Human Performance Pathway and delivers the Energy Institute's Human Factors Foundation course, as well as a range of Human Factors awareness and introductory courses for engineering, operations and safety persons. He was the lead author on the Centre for Chemical Process Safety "Human Factors Handbook for Process Plant Operations" and for the Energy Institute's guidance on organizational change, safe staffing levels, and competence management, while also volunteering authorship support on the CIEHF's guide to "Human Factors Assessment Programs for Critical Tasks on COMAH Establishments'. He also acts as an Independent Member of safety committees, advising on the Human Factors of safety.
